Camphill Community Mourne Grange is a Village Community situated in Kilkeel, Co. Down. The Community is home to more than 130 people, including adults with a Learning Disability.
We are seeking to recruit for the following position. Full-time Office Administrator

Job Description

Reporting to: The Mourne Grange Management Council through the Finance Group

Located: The Office, Camphill Community Mourne Grange, Kilkeel

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Leave: Full time employee entitlement is 20 days per annum plus nominated statutory public and bank holidays. The pro-rata principle applies to part-time employees.

Contract: Full-Time, subject to a six-month probationary period

Salary: Negotiable up to £21,500 per annum, subject to qualifications and ability.

Pension: The Company operates a Group Personal Pension Scheme. Conventional contributions can be made by the employee via the payroll (the employer currently contributes 4% of the Gross Salary to the Scheme). Details of the scheme are available upon request.

Background
Camphill Community Mourne Grange was established in 1971 as the first adult community in Northern Ireland. It is now the home of more than 140 people, including adults with special needs who live and work together with co-workers and their families.

Job Summary

  • This post offers the successful candidate an exciting opportunity to be part of a small but very effective administration team.

Main Duties of Post

  • To work closely with other office administration staff, in ensuring the smooth running of the office function within Mourne Grange.
  • To record and prepare all relevant financial and other information on a monthly basis.
  • To ensure all relevant and requested information is prepared to a satisfactory standard and transferred to our professional advisors as and when required.
  • To provide a high-level support, service and assistance to co-workers and employees in relation to general queries.

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Experience in a similar senior post is essential
  • It is essential to be proficient in Microsoft Office; Word & Excel and hold some recognised qualification.
  • Experience of using a computerised accounting package, including the preparation and maintenance of spreadsheets.
  • Recent experience of working with accounts, in particular purchases ledger and sales ledger, posting invoices and settling monthly accounts.
  • Ability to reconcile and manage bank accounts, business credit cards, bank lodgements, cheque issuance and record all cheque payments.
  • Ability to manage, reconcile and control petty cash payments across the community.
  • Responsible for the preparation of VAT Returns / PAYE / NIC contributions.
  • Ability to prepare monthly management accounts and all other supporting financial information.
  • Knowledge of how to prepare computerised annual budgets for the community.
  • An ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally - effective report writing, and letter writing skills, and the ability to converse with a diverse range of people at all levels.
  • An ability to manage and prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
  • Good organisational skills to include an ability to plan and organise meetings, ensuring all relevant information and reports are available.
  • An ability to adapt to the occasional changes of financial administration required by circumstances e.g. changes in the need of the community and regulatory / auditing changes.
  • An ability to work alone or as part of a small but effective team.
  • A satisfactory POCVA report.

Desirable:

  • Experience of the voluntary sector.
  • Experience of working with volunteers and committees.
  • An awareness and understanding of the Camphill ethos or a willingness and openness to learn in a therapeutic environment.
  • An ability to work across a wide range of staff and within a multi-cultural setting.
