Job Title: Programme Administrator – Part-time
(Temporary until March 2008)
Responsible To: Programme Manager
Description: The Programme Administrator is responsible for providing administrative support to the Faith in a Plural Society programme.

Main Responsibilities

  1. General administration and finance duties specific to the project.
  2. Scheduling interviews and small group meetings, including Advisory Group, organising venues and catering as appropriate.
  3. Transcribing research interviews.
  4. Any other duties as agreed with the Director

Salary £15,000 to £17,500 pro rata

N.B. This job description is an outline of the post as it is currently perceived by the Centre and will therefore be subject to change in detail and emphasis in the light of future developments.

A. It is essential that the candidate:
• Possess a good standard of education (at least A level or equivalent)
• Demonstrate a commitment to the ethos and mission of the Centre.
• Demonstrate good administrative skills. Good record keeping skills. A systematic and orderly approach to the task is essential with at least two years administrative experience.
• Be a good team worker.
• Be able to work on their own initiative.
• Have good written and verbal communication skills.
• Have experience in reception duties or dealing with the public.
• Have excellent computer skills. Competent IT skills, particularly with ms word, excel.

B. It is desirable that the candidate:
• Have relevant qualifications in office and organisational administration.
• Have event organisation experience.
• Have knowledge of church structures in Northern Ireland.
• Have an interest in / knowledge of community relations and local political issues.
