The Advice & Support Worker will be responsible for providing a high quality advice, information and referral service for refugees and those in the asylum process. They will also be expected to contribute to the further development of NICRAS through support of the Management Committee and volunteers.

Applicants should have:

• a 3rd level qualification in a relevant discipline (or 3 years recent full-time experience at a comparable level)
• Plus, a minimum of one years recent experience in giving benefits/welfare advice to those who have received Refugee or other status which allow settlement in the UK
• familiarity with the asylum process in the UK
• experience of working in a multi-cultural environment
• experience of working with interpreters
• two years recent experience of working with groups in a developmental role
• demonstrable experience in administration and IT systems.
