To contribute to the organisation and delivery of personal and social development skills to young people aged 16-25, through the provision of Information and Communication Technology projects which will enable them to progress into further education, training or employment. The worker will also engage in group work, community relations and other areas relating to Bytes curriculum.

Bytes is a cross community organisation with a network of centres based in: New Lodge, Rathcoole, Upper Springfield, Poleglass, Lower Shankill, Tullycarnet, Ballybeen, Short Strand and L/Derry.

This is a unique opportunity for a successful candidate with previous youth work or training experience and excellent organisational skills, to join a network of centres dedicated to improving life skills and opportunities to disadvantaged young people in an informal environment.

You must be able to

  1. Provide evidence that demonstrates an acceptable level of ability in the following competencies: forward thinking and planning, managing a youth programme, decision making and problem solving, communication and making a personal impact.
  2. Have a recognised training or youth work qualification at Level 2 or level 3, or be currently working towards them.
  3. Be fully competent ICT user with a minimum of IT NVQ level 2 or equivalent and should be familiar with digital media software from a range such as graphics, web development, video production, animation and/or music packages. Some evidence of digital media skills is required at interview.

Salary

£15,153.00 - £17,154.00 pa pro rata (grade 1 qualified)
£18,907.00 - £20,736.00 pa pro rata (grade 2 qualified)

Starting salary will depend on knowledge and experience demonstrated at interview stage.
