Community NI Publishing Policy

Current and Accurate Information

It is the responsibility of content contributors to ensure that their information is accurate and timely, and to notify the Community NI team if information becomes out of date or misleading.

Unacceptable Content

Information published on Community NI must not contain or link to offensive, obscene, defamatory or threatening material, or support illegal activity. Pages deemed to contain inappropriate material will be removed from Community NI. This website subscribes to NICVA's mission, vision and values.

External Links

Community NI does not take responsibility for the content of links to third party external sites and does not necessarily endorse the views or agree with the information published on them.

Language

Please follow the Community NI Style Guide when writing content for the site. We also recommend that you use Plain English.

Copyright

Content must not contain 'copyrighted' material, including images and text, without the written consent of the copyright owner. Photographs of children can only be published with the written consent of the child's parent or guardian.

Funders and Supporters

Web pages may contain an acknowledgement of supporters and funders, provided that the appearance of the acknowledgement is in keeping with Community NI's design guidelines.

'Look and Feel'

The visual 'look and feel' (house style) of Community NI is determined by cascading style sheets.

Community NI, and its associated websites Callnet, NICVA and Fundraising NI, have been developed in an attempt to meet the guidelines of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Accessibility Initiatives (WAI).

Attaching Documents

Documents over one page in length should be converted to PDF format and optimised for the web. When including a document in an article, its size should be indicated beside it eg Adobe PDF Icon Publishing Policy (112Kb).

Administration of the Policy

All information submitted to Community NI will be reviewed by a Moderator before it goes live.

Community will enforce its publishing policy and reserves the right to take appropriate action under its relevant policies and procedures where breaches occur. Authors may be asked to modify content in order to comply with the policy and, if necessary, inappropriate pages will be removed.
