Community Relations Policy Forum

NICVA Small Logo

The community relations policy forum was formed in May 2008 to provide a supportive policy context for voluntary and community organisations interested in community relations. It is chaired by Anne McKay from Ballynafeigh Community Development Association.

Aim

To enhance the capacity of organisations active on community relations issues to build links with each other, make policy responses and participate in policy development.

The Community relations policy forum will do this by:

  • Facilitating information sharing and dissemination within members of the Forum on a range of common issues.
  • Enabling those working on policy within the community relations sector to come together on a regular basis to network, share experiences and knowledge and develop policy positions.
  • Enabling those who do not normally work on policy to have regular access to information and debate on the policy environment which shapes their work.

Meetings

Membership is drawn from across the voluntary and community sector and is open to any organisation with an interest in coming together on a regular basis to network, share experiences and knowledge and develop policy positions on community relations.

The Forum aims to meet 3-4 times per year, and will endeavour to meet in a range of venues.
