Training
NICVA has organised the Autumn Member's Day to focus on relationships as a direct response to the large quantity of
enquiries we receive from our members when they find themselves in difficult or troubled situations. 'Managing
Relationships' has been designed to give participants the opportunity to gain an understanding of the policies and
procedures that can be put in place which will ultimately help in managing relationships with staff, volunteers and
committee members as well as considering relationships with the wider public and regulators.
Morning session
We recognise that to ensure your organisation's success these relationships must be managed properly. But we also
want to remind you that there is much regulation and policy which underpins the need for these relationships to be good. Therefore the morning session will begin with presentations on the most up-to-date legislation and good practice
considerations that everyone needs to know including the latest on the Charities' legislation and an overview of essential employment policy and procedures. This will be followed by the first set of workshops where participants will be able to explore managing staff performance, managing the organisation's message or managing your Board or Committee.
Afternoon session - Workshops
In the afternoon you will have the opportunity to select a workshop which will provide further in-depth, practical
information on either child protection, managing staff behaviour or managing conflict.

Cost? Free for full NICVA members (Two free places per organisation only). Extra member delegate rate £30 per person
Non members £70 per person (Price includes lunch)
