This one day course is targeted at managers and staff from community and voluntary organisations who have responsibility for commissioning external evaluation consultants. The course seeks to address some of the common questions, problems and issues encountered. It provides useful guidelines and tips for the commissioners of evaluation to ensure that they get best value and more effectively plan, manage and quality assure the process.

The course will include tutor input and group discussions as well as individual and group exercises. By the end of the day, participants will have developed draft ‘terms of reference’ for an external evaluation and considered selection criteria for recruiting an evaluator.
Participants on this course can receive an ILM (Institute of Leadership & Management) Development Award for an additional charge of £45.
