OCN Accredited Level 3: Train the Trainer

• Do you want to learn how to become an Effective Trainer? Drug and Alcohol Practitioner Course
• This course is free if you work in the community and voluntary sector and is designed to develop those who want to either

Deliver drug and alcohol related training in their communities or
Practitioners wanting to gain a formal Training Award to develop their professional practice OCN Level 3, Train the Trainer

Dates: Wednesdays, 5 November 2008 to 11 February 2009.00 am 4.30 pm
Venue: ASCERT, 23 Bridge Street, Lisburn BT28 1XZ

• This Level 3 course is a 12-day course run over 12 weeks. The course covers the full systematic training cycle and includes:
• Needs Analysis
• Model and Theories of Learning
• Blocks to Learning
• Learning Styles
• Designing training programmes (from short sessions to courses – from working with adults to young people, professionals to parents)
• Developing appropriate and usable materials
• Developing action orientated learning
• Delivering training – skills practice
• Managing group dynamics
• Giving & receiving feedback
• Becoming a more reflective practitioner
• Evaluation & impact analysis

Details: Open to anyone who holds a Drugs and Alcohol qualification or who works in the drugs field and can demonstrate the required level of knowledge.

Cost: FREE to community/ voluntary organisations however participants are required to sign up as community volunteer trainers to use the skills gained in supporting communities around drug and alcohol awareness (18 hours volunteering required)

For those wishing to access the course from statutory or public sector or for professional development WITHOUT COMMITTING TO THE 18 HOURS OF VOLUNTEERING the cost to the organisation or individual is £650.00.
