The Annual Summer School is informed by the values of community development work in a rural context. Its purpose is to promote and facilitate the sharing of learning, practice, skills, knowledge and experience amongst practitioners and experts from a range of different experiential backgrounds.
This challenging and thought provoking three day event will examine how community development practice and theory are linked. Through interactive workshops, delegates will explore how the principles of community development inform our work and the work of others from across the UK. Workshops will also look at developing a common understanding of the process of community development, creative visioning and working and learning together.
The Summer School will provide participants with the opportunity to:

The activities planned and themes explored on each day are linked and ideally it would be great if everyone could attend on all three days, however the daily programmes have been designed in such a way that attendance on only one day will still be an extremely valuable experience.
If you are a community development worker, community activist or policy maker, then Rural Community Network’s Annual Summer School is for you…
