Each government department is currently involved in drawing up their spending priorities under the 2007 Comprehensive Spending Review. As the CSR is being driven by the Treasury it will press ahead regardless of NI elections, purdah etc. This is an important stage of the CSR and we are keen to get an opportunity for officials from DFP, who are coordinating the review in NI, to discuss progress and consult with the sector on spending priorities.
A roundtable meeting has been arranged at which representatives from DFP and DSD will be present, and we hope DHSSPS and DE will also be able to make it.
