A workshop for frontline staff who come into contact and deal directly with the public, as you are best placed to understand the difficulties some people have with reading, writing, spelling and maths. The way you handle their fears or concerns can make all the difference in encouraging that person to do something about brushing up their skills.

  • How to recognise Essential Skill needs, through indictors and barriers to learning
  • How these needs impact on all aspects of life and work
  • Suggestions of possible indicators which would help you recognise Essential Skills needs
  • Give you advice on how to raise the subject
  • How to motivate and engage interest.
