The Annual Belfast Pride Parade
It's the highlight of the Pride week, and the highlight of the Gay calendar in Belfast. It's when everyone takes to the streets and shows the people of Belfast they've nothing to hide.
Last year was the biggest ever, with well over 3000 people taking part in the parade and hopefully even more people will venture from the pavements around Topman and join in the parade this year.
Being in the parade is an uplifting experience to be enjoyed by everyone. Even if you're not out, there arefacepainters who'll make sure you aren't spotted (in a good way of course!). Whether you want to walk with us, wave a flag or blow a whistle, anyone can join in!
The route goes along Royal Avenue, around City Hall and then up Great Victoria Street, turning left past the Europa, going straight down towards Parks Clothing before turning left into Bruce Street and onto Bedford Street past the BBC before coming back to the City Hall and on to Royal Avenue. Colourful floats and music will be on hand to keep things moving, and along with Pride's very own dancers leading the parade, it's sure to be one not to be missed.
As ever there will be plenty of marshals and security about this year, to cover the longer route and they will be visible in their uber trendy Pride Marshal shirts. Pride hopes to see you there, to make this year's parade even bigger than last year, so bring your friends, and show Belfast you're proud of who you are!
