The Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission is pleased to host a lunchtime seminar on the theme of Stories from Borders and Stories of Borders to be delivered by Dr. Sriprapha Petcharamesree from the Office of Human Rights Studies and Social Development, Mahidol University, Thailand.
The seminar will explore the stories of people encountered both in Asia and in Europe. Though different in legal and social status, most, if not all of the people have been facing the same problem, discrimination and other forms of human rights violations.
By sharing true life stories from different countries, Dr. Petacharamesree will reflect on the concepts of borders and frontiers both from a legal and political perspective.
