NCH Northern Ireland, the children’s charity, launches its first ever fundraising campaign with a hip, new music event – Never Mind the Business.
Never Mind the Business will be hosted by Citybeat radio presenter, Robin Elliott and takes place at the Ramada Hotel, Belfast at 7.00pm on Thursday 1 March 2007.
Based on the iconic TV programme ‘Never Mind the Buzzcocks’, competition is expected to be fierce as Northern Ireland’s business elite test their musical knowledge as they battle to become Never Mind the Business Champions, 2007.
Arlene Creighton, Regional Fundraiser with NCH Northern Ireland, said:
“We’re delighted to be bringing Never Mind the Business to Northern Ireland as our inaugural fundraising event. Never Mind the Business has enjoyed great success in Scotland, raising £135,000 last year to help vulnerable children, young people and their families. We hope to replicate that success to fund a range of projects including early years and family support services for over 1,750 children in Northern Ireland.
“Never Mind the Business is a corporate event with a difference – there is not a dinner jacket or ballgown in sight - the dress code is strictly jeans and T-shirt. The evening includes live music, irreverent quiz rounds during which we test your knowledge of intro’s, lyrics and album covers, as well as the Buzzcocks’ infamous identity parade where aging rock stars are resurrected from the past.
“Not only do we guarantee a great night out, but by attending Never Mind the Business, you’ll be helping to support some of the most vulnerable and excluded children in Northern Ireland.
“We’re grateful for the support from Event Exhibition and Citybeat, which has enabled us to bring Never Mind the Business to Northern Ireland.”
A corporate table at Never Mind the Business, seating 10 guests, costs £800 and includes a drinks reception and gourmet supper.
