New Ideas for the Social Economy, a cross-border social enterprise support programme, and Cresco Trust, one of Northern Ireland’s newest not-for-profit community organisations, are delighted to host a one-day conference and two-day master class on the theme of social enterprise. Jerr Boschee will be the keynote speaker at both events.
Mr. Boschee is the Founder and Executive Director of The Institute for Social Entrepreneurs. He is also an advisor to the Department of Trade and Industry and for the past two years has been delivering a series of workshops and training programmes about social enterprise throughout England. This is the first time he has lectured in Ireland.
The one-day conference is designed primarily for people with an interest in the development of social enterprise, especially social economy practitioners and support agencies; people in the public and private sectors who work with the social economy; academics; and researchers.
The two-day master class will include the same lectures as the one-day conference, but will also contain six small group working sessions during which participants can begin practising with the tools they are learning. The class is intended primarily for directors, trustees and senior managers of community and voluntary sector organisations that are creating a social enterprise for the first time or expanding an existing social enterprise.
The Conference will takes place at the Lusty Beg Conference Centre, Kesh, Co. Fermanagh on 27 September 2004
The two day Master Class will be held in the Verbal Arts Centre, L’Derry on 28 and 29 September 2004
