Haroun Khalifa’s father, Rashid, is the famous Shah of Blah, the Ocean of Notions . His storytelling powers are renowned throughout the land but when Haroun’s mother Soraya runs away with the next-door neighbour, Rashid loses his gift. Haroun resolves to help his father regain his storytelling abilities. Doing so means embarking on a fantastical and highly dangerous voyage where fact and fiction blur.
Bringing together a company of gifted young emerging practitioners from across Northern Ireland , this visually stunning contemporary adaptation of Salman Rushdie’s epic fantasy novel mixes Indian and Celtic cultural traditions together with live music and dance.
Performances run from Thursday 19 to Saturday 21 August 2004 at 8.00pm with a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm.
