The HIV Support Centre, Northern Ireland's leading charity working on behalf of those living with and affected by HIV, is calling for volunteers from across Northern Ireland to participate in the 2008 Belfast City Marathon and help raise funds for the charity.
Today there are approximately 650 people diagnosed with HIV living in Northern Ireland. With, on average, two new cases being diagnosed per week Northern Ireland now has the highest growth rate in HIV infection in the UK today (per capita). The HIV Support Centre works throughout the Province providing vital information, advice and support to people affected by HIV and also provides education and awareness training on prevention.
All participants will receive a sponsorship 'goodie pack' including T-Shirt and all funds raised will be spent in Northern Ireland - strengthening services, support and prevention.
