This is your chance to share your story with a wider audience and learn more about the art of story telling in the digital age. Your story can be about anything - love, work, hopes, fears, the past, even the future. If there's an incident that sticks in your mind, a subject you feel strongly about, a place you love (or can't stand), then that's the germ of a digital story.

Whether you are eight or eighty, a skilled facilitator will help you produce a digital story using your own photos, words and voice as follows;

  • The Newry Story Finders group are holding a digital storytelling workshop on Saturday 1 March, where participants will have the opportunity to create a 2 minute film based on a personal memory. Places are limited so it’s strongly recommended that you get in touch as soon as possible. If you are interested in attending the workshop contact Gervase Hannaway at Newry’s McGrath Centre on 028 3025 2628.
  • There will also be a digital storytelling workshop in Dervock on Saturday 8 March. If you’d like to get involved, then contact Frankie Cunningham at Community House, 13 Travers Place, Dervock, BT53 8BX on 028 2074 2568.
  • For more information on the workshop taking place in Castlederg, contact Cathy Moorehead on 028 9033 8013 or email her on cathy.moorehead@bbc.co.uk.

BBC would be happy to hear from anyone who’d like to share their story on the Story Finders website (www.storyfinders.co.uk) or get involved with one of the groups. The groups are based in Dervock, Limavady, Newry, Castlederg, and Belleek.

You can email the project at storyfinders@bbc.co.uk or call the Co-ordinator on 028 9033 8198.

The Story Finders project is funded by BBC Northern Ireland, the Department of Finance and Personnel and BT, with support from NICVA.
