This popular course is designed to provide an introduction to evaluation and to provide training for practitioners on the practical side of planning or undertaking project and programme evaluation.
Revised for 2007/08, the course has been designed to enable participants to develop an understanding of evaluation

and the skills and knowledge needed to carry out evaluation. The course sets out a four-part framework for undertaking evaluation and includes practical tasks and opportunities for discussion.

The course topics covered include:

  • What is evaluation?
  • Why is evaluation important?
  • Using an evaluation framework
  • Types of information needed to get your evaluation started
  • dentifying key lines of enquiry and measuring impact
  • An overview of research methods useful for evaluation
  • Writing and disseminating the results of an evaluation
