This course is a half day course of interest to criminal defence solicitors representing foreign nationals who are on remand or have been convicted and sentenced to a term of imprisonment. It is also aimed at anyone who works with them within the prison system.

The course will provide an understanding of immigration law and how it may impact on such clients. Particular emphasis will be put on the practice and procedures of the UK Border Agency when considering deportation of foreign national prisoners.
