Course Aim

To enable participants gain skills, knowledge and information in the area of sexuality, sexual health and personal and sexual relationships.

Outcomes

During the course participants will have the opportunity to:

• Explore and discuss values and attitudes to relationships and sexuality work, personally, culturally and within their own working environment.
• Identify issues in the area of sexuality and sexual health relevant to their client group.
• Update their information on sexual health issues including sexually transmitted infections and contraception.
• Identify the main elements in the design and delivery of relationships and sexuality education programmes.
• Receive constructive feedback and guidance on the design and delivery of their work.

Training Methods

fpa continues to develop and apply group work, experiential and participatory methods of learning in its training
approach.

Participants will be supported to learn using exercises specifically designed to encourage, participation and reflection to support them to develop empathy, knowledge and skills in the area of sexuality, sexual health and personal and sexual relationships.

Trainers will value and respect the experience of course participants. This is the foundation for the development of
all fpa work. Trainers will pay attention to and respond to feedback throughout the provision of the training course.
