If so, then The Men's Project within Parents Advice Centre would like to invite you to a Presentation Morning which will showcase some of the learning arising from the "Kick Start 2008" project - a seven month package of training, support, networking, reflection and practical action for groups that are trying to, or wishing to, engage with fathers.
This event will take place on Thursday 25 September 2008, with tea/coffee/registration at 10.00am, finishing with light lunch at 12.30pm, in the Grosvenor Hall, Glengall Street, Belfast.
During the Kick Start programme, the fifteen participants undertook an internal "Father-Friendly Audit" of their organisations; participated in three training days on the why, the how, and the what of working with fathers; planned and implemented a practical project with a father-focus; recorded their experience and the learning outcomes from this process.
The Kick Start 2008 trainees have now organised a short and informal event to give others the opportunity to: understand why we need increased engagement with fathers; get a sense of what Kick Start offered; hear the practical experience of a number of trainees; meet this year's Kick Start participants, and find out about the hands-on things involved in running an activity for fathers.
If you would like to participate in this free event (supported by the Family Policy Unit within DHSSPS), please print off, complete, and return the booking form which can found online at: www.mensproject.org/kickstart/presentation.html or contact Trisha at Belfast 028 9031 0891.
