The course is designed to help staff, managers, volunteers, and funders of voluntary and community organisations to understand evaluation concepts and issues and to provide a practical introduction to the process of implementing effective self-evaluation systems within their working practice.

Course Objectives:

• To increase participants’ awareness of the benefits of self-evaluation
• To increase understanding of self-evaluation concepts and issues
• To enable participants to more effectively plan for self-evaluation
• To develop participants’ knowledge and skills in implementing self-evaluation
• To enhance participants use of both quantitative and qualitative approaches to evaluation
• To raise awareness of the process of analysis & interpretation of information
• To highlight the importance of using and disseminating evaluation findings including report writing.
