Community Development and Health Network is to host a Networking Event and its 14th AGM on Thursday 30 October 2008. The Networking Event will take place in the Lagan Valley Island Centre in Lisburn from 9.30am to 1pm.

The following WORKSHOPS will take place at the event:

  • Introduction to Self Evaluation… (Gladys Swanton, CENI)


CENI provides a range of training and support options incorporating the themes of Self-Evaluation, Evaluating Outcomes, Managing External Evaluation, and Implementing Quality. In this workshop Gladys will introduce participants to evaluation concepts and issues and briefly introduce the process of implementing self evaluation systems.

  • Researching Local Community Health Needs… (Catherine McBurney, NINIS)

Northern Ireland Neighbourhood Information Service (NINIS) provides free access to statistical and locational information relating to small areas across Northern Ireland. In this workshop Catherine will give a live web demonstration of how to access and use the site to research local community health needs.

  • Latest RPA Update… (Barbary Cook, CDHN)

In this workshop CDHN’s director Barbary will give an overview of the lasted advancements in the Review of Public Administration.

  • Policy, Lobbying and Advocacy – Making the Links… (Pam Tilson, CACDP)

In this workshop Pam will discuss how to enhance the capacity of organisations that have an interest or role in lobbying and campaigning to build links with each other and participate in policy development.

There will be an opportunity to have an exhibition stand at the event.
