Working group members sought for charitable giving research

In 2008 NICVA published Northern Ireland Giving Survey 2008 which examined overall patterns of charitable giving in Northern Ireland. As part of the State of the Sector research programme NICVA intends to repeat this research into charitable giving.

It is the intention to undertake this survey of 1,000 members of the general public in June 2010. However before commencing on this project NICVA would greatly value contributions in helping shape this research.

NICVA is proposing to establish a working group that will help guide the research and provide an insight from the perspective of professional fundraisers and organisations which are especially dependent upon the general public for income. Ultimately NICVA wants this research to be as relevant as possible to organisations and therefore would greatly appreciate your input. To this end we would like to invite expressions of interest to attend a meeting to discuss this research further and the potential outcomes of the project.

The first working group meeting will be on Thursday 20 May 2010 and NICVA would be very grateful if you could indicate to Cathy Breslin cathy.breslin@nicva.org whether or not you will be able to attend, or if you could put forward another representative for the working group by Friday 14 May 2010.

The meeting is scheduled to start at 12.30pm and end at 2.00pm (lunch will be provided) in NICVA. The previous report is available from:
