Preparing Your Employees for Retirement

Are any of your staff due to retire soon? Have you thought about the major changes your employee is facing?

We are all familiar with Age Discrimination and the requirements this introduced to inform employees of their expected date of retirement, their right to request to work on past the default retirement age of 65 and our duty as employers to consider. But how many of us have considered the impact retirement has on those potentially facing the biggest life changing event?

Retirement can't come soon enough for some people, while for others it's a stressful life change. Either way, planning ahead can make the transition easier.

Mary Connelly is facilitating a one day pre-retirement course for NICVA dealing with the impact of retirement and the major transition this has on lifestyle, particularly health: physical and mental, use of time, relationships and financial implications.

The course is aimed at staff members planning or due to retire.
