Established in 1995, UCIT is a key provider of loan finance and support to the Social Economy sector in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. Having invested over £25m, all profits generated by the Trust are recycled back into the community.

Who We Are:

UCIT was established in 1995 in response to decreasing grant support from government and the difficulties experienced by community organisations in accessing commercial loan facilities. The organisation now stands as a key provider of loan finance and support to the social economy sector in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

Since becoming operational in January 2001, they have approved loans totalling in excess off £35 million to over 200 community organisations and social enterprises.

As a registered charity, all profits generated by the Trust are recycled for reinvestment into the community and social economy sector.

Bridging funding gaps
Restructuring existing debt
