Workshops for parents and carers of young people with a disability that will soon be transitioning into adult services.
Leaving school and moving into adulthood can be a challenging time for many young people and their families. What choies exist and will they help the young person lead a fulfilling life.
Many parents feel anxious at this time, predicting poor services or a possible lack of choice for their children. The support they may have had enjoyed through local parents groups or local children's servces may seem to be about to fade away. For these reasons it is vital that parents and their children plan for transition to adult services and adult life as early as possible.
Contact a family is holding a number of workshops throughout Northern Ireland for parents of young people that will soon be going through the process of transition from child to adult services.
