Shack Attack

Habitat for Humanity Ireland

Habitat for Humanity Ireland

Cost: Free

A first for Northern Ireland,Shack Attack challenges teams of 4 people to design and build their own make-shift shelter from scrap materials and then sleep in it overnight, experiencing just for a moment the hardship faced by millions of people everyday.

The event takes place in Wallace Park, Lisburn on 22nd–23rd June 2013. Your team will work together to gather scrap, used or donated materials, which you can use to design and construct your own make-shift shelter. The challenge is then to build your shelter alongside other teams to form a "shanty town" and camp out overnight in the shelter you have built.

Each team is also asked to raise £1235, the average cost of a Habitat home in the developing world. This will connect your hard work and efforts at a local level to the global need and raise vital funds to help lift families out of poverty housing.

We are challenging you to build a team from your church, organisation, family or friends and be part of a unique and truly rewarding event which will transform the lives of families in need forever!

Each team will be part of a fun weekend, with an evening meal on Saturday and cooked breakfast on Sunday provided to keep you going!  There will also be prizes for fundraising winner, shelter build winner and overall Shack Attack Champions!

For more information or to secure your team's place, please call Karen on 028 9263 5639, email [email protected] or visit www.habitatni.co.uk.
