This one day seminar aims to provide organisations with an awareness of the safeguarding issues in relation to technology and explore ways to help children and young people stay safe when they enter the virtual world.

The day will be led by experienced professionals from Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre (CEOP) and will provide participants with an in-depth look at how young people use the internet and mobile technology.  It will also examine how offenders use the online environment to groom children and the risks young people face in this converged space.  The training will give both law enforcement and educational perspectives, broadening understanding of this emerging arena including highlighting new technologies, children's risk taking behaviour, sexting, cyberbullying, inappropriate content and the advent of pro ana sites.

In addition to the above, the conference will also enable delegates to train fellow professionals in the delivery of CEOP's Thinkuknow education programme and deliver CEOP's Thinkuknow programme for 11 - 16 year olds directly to young people.

Please note:  In order to access CEOP resources, an AccessNI check, ID and a letter from your organisation will be required by CEOP.

The cost of this seminar is £60 OR £35 for registered Keeping Safe Trainers.

Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis, so please book early to avoid disappointment.
