The Centre for Effective Education and the Centre of Excellence for Public Health Northern Ireland would like to invite you to this showcase event.  This will be of interest to everyone who wants to learn more about the role that schools can play in promoting the health and wellbeing of children. Keynote presentations will be made by Professor Chris Bonell (Professor of Sociology and Social Policy, University College London) and Professor Simon Murphy (Professor in Public Health Improvement, Principle Investigator (PI) on PHIRN and Cardiff Co-Director for DECIPHer).  A series of short presentations will outline research currently being undertaken in Northern Ireland by teams from the Centre for Effective Education and the Centre of Excellence for Public Health at Queen’s.  This event has been supported by the Improving Children’s Lives initiative at Queen’s.   The Centre for Effective Education is an applied research centre committed to ensuring that educational programmes and interventions are as effective as possible in helping to improve the lives of children and young people, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds.  The Centre of Excellence for Public Health Northern Ireland aims to build capacity for public health research, strengthen the evidence base for public health policy and practice and to improve the health of the population.
