The Minister for Social Development has released proposals for a new private rented sector strategy. The consultation period runs from 15 May - 7 August 2009.
Housing Rights Service is holding a free half day event to discuss the proposals with member organisations directly involved providing advice and assistance to tenants as well as other interested stakeholders. Participants will be given an overview of the proposals and an opportunity to share their views in groups.
The proposals fall under the following broad themes:
- Knowledge and awareness
- Tenancy management
- Security of tenure
- Fitness standards
- Improving accessibility
