Planning for retirement?
Mary Connelly is facilitating a one day pre-retirement course for NICVA dealing with the impact of retirement and the major transition this has on lifestyle, particularly health: physical and mental, use of time, relationships and financial implications. The course is aimed at staff members planning or due to retire.
Mary works with PFC, a Financial Advisor Company and also provides training for QUB. Mary took early retirement herself in 2005 so knows personally how this can impact on your life. She is a qualified teacher with nearly 30 years training experience with adults. She is also a qualified and accredited counsellor and also works as a sessional counsellor with Carecall.
Participants will have a chance to reflect on the issues for those planning or due to retire. The course is interactive and will cover the following objectives:
- Clarify and prioritise concerns around retirement
- Receive financial information to aid planning
- Provide an opportunity to create a personal action plan

Getting here and Parking
NICVA has a number of free parking spaces available for those attending events. Unfortunately these can't be reserved and are available on a first come basis. NICVA's spaces are clearly marked and we would ask that visitors only use spaces allocated to NICVA when attending an event. Parking is also available on Duncairn Gardens and surrounding areas within close walking distance. NICVA is also a short walk from Yorkgate Train Station and you can easily catch a bus from the city centre (no 1D) direct to Duncairn Gardens, or (no 61 and 64) to Cityside Centre (a few minutes walk).
