Do you want to develop skills to help people with their disputes? Would you like to be more confident in how to respond to conflict?
By training with us in mediation you will gain an understanding of conflict and associated behaviour and learn to apply strategies to conflict situations. You will understand the role of the mediator in conflict, the objectives of the initial assessment and case development and develop skills for assessing conflict situations. The philosophical and ethical dimensions to conflict intervention are also covered. Finally, the process of mediation in a two-party dispute is taught along with extensive opportunities to practice the skills in role-plays in class. Our training is accredited with the Open College Network for Northern Ireland (OCN NI) at Level 3, with 9 credits.

Volunteer NowTraining/AdviceThis course is aimed at individuals who recruit, manage or supervise staff and volunteers working with children and/or adults. It will examine the procedures that need to be put in place for effective recruitment and selection of staff and volunteers including requirements under the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups (NI) Order, the current and former definitions of regulated activity and how to exercise careful judgement when assessing information on an Access NI Disclosure Certificate. It will also look at the procedures required for the effective management of staff and volunteers including induction and training, breach of code of behaviour and referral to the Disclosure and Barring Service.- - -
