This one day course describes a framework for managing the performance of staff including supervision and appraisal. It also covers how to give feedback and tips for how to deal with under performance.

Motivation of staff is a key part of supporting staff and this session will outline motivation theories and give an opportunity for participants to share ideas.

 

Training content:

The training covers the following key areas:

  • Describes supervision and appraisal processes
  • Outlines your role in managing performance and how to address underperformance
  • Explains how to give feedback
  • Discusses how to motivate your staff
  • Describes how to delegate tasks

Who should attend?

This session is for anyone new to management, those who have been managing for some time and need to update their skills and practice.

Accreditation / Progression:

This session has a credit value of 2. 

Learners can gain a stand-alone ILM certificate or accumulate credits to achieve an ILM Level 3 award (4 credits) or a level 3 certificate in leadership and management (13 credits).
