As a Training Organisation, The Training and Recruitment House is accredited by HABC/CIEH/FAA. This course leads to certification in the HABC or CIEH Level 2 Award in Food Safety.
You will automatically be enrolled on the CIEH version unless otherwise requested.
Who is the Course for?
This is an essential course for anyone working with food including cooking, preparing and serving. It previously was called “Basic Food Hygiene”.
Where is the Course held?
The Course is held in Belfast. We can also go and carry out the Training on your premises.
How much does the Course cost?
£55 (VAT Included) per person. Book 2 spaces and get them for £100. Special Offers are available for Group Bookings.
What can I do once I complete the Course?
This Course will allow you to apply for many positions in the food, hospitality and care sectors as well as being an important requirement for those already working.
How is the Course delivered? What will I learn?
The Course is very interactive and you will be supplied with all materials. You will learn about food poisoning, personal hygiene and how to keep food safe from delivery to service.
How long does the Course take?
The Course takes around 6 hours in total. It is normally delivered over 1 day or 2 evenings.
Is there a test at the end of the Course? What is the pass rate?
Yes there are 30 multiple choice questions. Currently the pass rate is 97%.

It will examine the procedures that need to be put in place for effective recruitment and selection of staff and volunteers including requirements under the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups (NI) Order, the current and former definitions of regulated activity and how to exercise careful judgement when assessing information on an Access NI Disclosure Certificate. It will also look at the procedures required for the effective management of staff and volunteers including induction and training, breach of code of behaviour and referral to the Disclosure and Barring Service.- - -
