What is the Course?
Level 2 Award in Food Safety
(Options in Catering, Manufacturing and Retail)
As a Training Organisation, The Training and Recruitment House is accredited by TQUK/HABC/CIEH/IOSH.
This course leads to certification in the CIEH Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering/CIEH Level 2 Award in Food Safety for Manufacturing/CIEH Level 2 Award in Food Safety for Retail.
What can I do once I complete the Course?
This Course will allow you to apply for many positions in the food, hospitality and care sectors as well as being an important requirement for those already working.

The Course takes around 6 hours in total. It is normally delivered over 1 day or 2 evenings.

Is there a test at the end of the Course? What is the pass rate?
Yes there are 30 multiple choice questions.
We have a 98% pass rate at our Centre which is higher than the UK Average of 97%.
How is the Course delivered? What will I learn?
The Course is very interactive and you will be supplied with all materials. You will learn about food poisoning, personal hygiene and how to keep food safe from delivery to service.

Who is the Course for?
This is an essential course for anyone working with food including cooking, preparing and serving. It previously was called “Basic Food Hygiene”.
You can complete this Course without having completed Level 1.

Volunteer NowTraining/AdviceThis course is aimed at individuals who recruit, manage or supervise staff and volunteers working with children and/or adults. It will examine the procedures that need to be put in place for effective recruitment and selection of staff and volunteers including requirements under the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups (NI) Order, the current and former definitions of regulated activity and how to exercise careful judgement when assessing information on an Access NI Disclosure Certificate. It will also look at the procedures required for the effective management of staff and volunteers including induction and training, breach of code of behaviour and referral to the Disclosure and Barring Service.- - -
