The Lecale Way Hospice Challenge

The Lecale Way of County Down is characterised by pretty villages, wild coastline, tower houses, castles & other historic sites. This 2 day walking route uses a combination of country roads, tracks and footpaths to explore the best of the scenary and the breath-taking landscape. Experience a night camping under the stars with a roaring fire and good company. We will discover the hidden beauty of The Lecale Way along the contrasting shores of Strangford Lough and the Irish Sea.

For this trek you will be required to pay a registration fee of £38 and are asked to raise a further £200 sponsorship for the Southern Area Hospice. Be quick! Spaces are very limited on this trek and you don't want to miss out on a great experience where you get the opportunity to trek a beautiful part of the country, challenge yourself while raising some vital funds for the Southern Area Hospice and make some great friends along the way.

There will be a bus to pick up participants in Newry and take us to the beginning of the walk.

Southern Area Hospice Services is a charity providing care free of charge to local people with cancer, and other terminal illnesses, such as Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neurone Disease, HIV and Aids. We currently care for near 1,000 patients annually and we rely on 73p in every pound from fundraising to enable us to care for and support patients and their families. The Fundraising Department has to raise £2.5million in 2017 to maintain the level of care currently available. This equates to £6,849 per day.
