It aims to explore the principles and procedures for the effective management and motivation of volunteers.
This course gives participants the opportunity to consider:
- attitudes and values to volunteer involvement in their organisation;
- reasons people volunteer (evidence);
- the value of management tools in volunteer management.
Using clear and fair policies and procedures in managing volunteers; taking account of their varying support needs and being aware of the need to give volunteers recognition are important tasks for volunteer managers.
OCNNI Accreditation is available (3 credits at Level 2) but accreditation is optional. Participants can decide individually whether they wish to work for OCNNI credits or simply attend the training. If undertaking the accredited option, participants must attend all sessions.
