Location
With
estimates of 100,000 to 200,00 dead in the wake of the 12th January
earthquake and the decimation of Haiti’s infrastructure, this course
will explore the global response to the disaster. Set in it’s historical
context, the course will examine issues around Aid and the roles of the various
global agencies in Haiti and seeks to highlight the many
controversial aspecys to Aid provision generally. It also examines how
individuals and community groups can respond to the
disaster.
The
course will run from 9:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. The course is free of charge
and will be held at the Ulster Peoples College.
