Habitat Shack Attack Challenge

Habitat for Humanity Ireland

Habitat for Humanity Ireland

Habitat needs you and 3 of your friends, family, church members or colleagues to form a team and be part of a unique and exciting event which will transform the lives of families in need forever

Team up with Habitat and help nail poverty housing

Shack Attack is a fun and rewarding challenge event where teams get to build their own shelter from scavenged materials and then sleep in it for one night!

Habitat NI is recruiting teams of four people aged 16+ to take part in the event that will take place in Wallace Park, Lisburn on 17th-18th May 2014. Your team will work together before the event to gather scrap materials, which you will then use to construct your own make-shift shelter in the park on the afternoon of Saturday 17th May.

Each team will then camp out overnight in the shelter they have built experiencing a little of the hardship faced by millions worldwide every day.  There will be team activities, dinner on Saturday evening, breakfast on Sunday morning and lots of prizes across different categories.

By taking part in Shack Attack you will be helping to raise awareness of the global need for adequate housing as well as raising vital funds for our work. Each team is challenged to raise sponsorship of £1235, which is the average cost of a Habitat home in the developing world and so your efforts will help to lift a family out of poverty housing!
