By the end of the seminar, participants should have had an opportunity to consider:
- the equality legal framework in Northern Ireland and how it relates to volunteering;
- an implementation plan outlining the key steps to take when seeking to promote equality of opportunity in volunteering;
- how best to communicate equality commitments and expectations;
- recommended practice for volunteer involving organisations seeking to monitor volunteers across equality grounds.
This training has been developed in partnership with the Equality Commission and is being offered free of charge to volunteer involving organisations. Two events have been scheduled:
- 20 April, 9.30am-12.30pm in Volunteer Development Agency, 129 Ormeau Road, Belfast;
- OR
- 29 April, 10.30am-1.30pm in The Verbal Arts Centre, Stable Lane, L'Derry.
