Building Change Trust: Potential Dublin Conference Visit

Building Change Trust Limited

Building Change Trust Limited

Cost: Free

The Trust are gauging interest in a potential visit to a conference in Dublin looking at the implementation of the Open Government Principals in Northern Ireland.

Do you want to engage with government and civil society representatives from across Europe on issues of participation, transparency and accountability?

Then why not join us and a group of other NI Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise sector representatives as we travel to Dublin for this landmark conference.

The Irish Government is organising a Europe-wide Open Government Partnership conference on 8th and 9th May for government and civil society representatives from the 20 plus European countries that are currently members of the scheme, plus a number of others who are considering joining. As well as the conference itself Irish civil society (led by TASC, Transparency Ireland and Open Knowledge Ireland) are organising a civil society meet-up on 7th May in the late afternoon/evening, again for representatives from all attending countries.  We are organising a group from NI to travel to Dublin to participate in some or all of the conference and civil society meeting and are looking for expressions of interest in joining us from individuals within the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector. We are considering a number of options, including:

  • a day trip on 8th or 9th;
  • travelling down on 7th afternoon for the civil society meeting and staying overnight, returning on 8th evening after first day of full conference
  • attending both days of the official conference on 8th and 9th with an overnight stay on 8th
  • attending all three days (two overnights)

If you are interested could you please indicate your availability on each of the three days by completing this doodle poll: http://doodle.com/fdissmpbcifud56f

If you indicate more than one day in sequence we will assume that infers an overnight stay – if that is not the case please post a comment on doodle. Building Change Trust will cover all costs including transport, accommodation and food.

The official deadline for conference registration with the Irish Government is Tuesday 8th April so only those who complete the poll before then will be able to attend. Even then, conference places are limited so we cannot guarantee a place. If there is over-subscription we will select on a first come, first served basis.

The visit to Dublin is in advance of an OGP seminar the Trust is organising in Belfast on Friday 16th May, in order to raise awareness of the OGP and gauge interest from the NI voluntary, community and social enterprise sector in engaging in a conversation about its potential in NI.
