BBC Children in Need Curiosity Programme Funding Surgery -2nd Aug

Curiosity is a new £2.5m partnership between BBC Children in Need and the Wellcome Trust which will use the power of informal science activities to create change for children and young people experiencing disadvantage in the UK.

Grants of up to £10,000 to fund projects that engage children and young people in science based activities are available.

If you have an idea for an application and would like to discuss it with a Grants Officer, meeting slots are now available on Wednesday 2nd August. If you would like to reserve a 30 minute slot between 10am-3pm please contact Siobhán McKenna on [email protected] or 028 9033 8221.

This is not about formal education. Projects should encourage young people to be curious about the world around them and inside them, making a positive difference in their lives: building confidence and self-esteem, developing life skills and expanding horizons.

You do not have to be an expert in science, or even have delivered science activities before to participate, and we encourage organisations who want to try something new to apply.

If you feel inspired by the idea of helping children and young people to understand more about the world around them, visit our website to find out more about the scheme.

Successful grantees will be offered ongoing support to complete their project.

In the meantime, you can join our Curiosity Facebook group to receive updates and meet potential project partners.
