Autism NI are running a Skills for Staying Safe programme for young people aged 13-15 years in the Greater Belfast area, to learn more about the social and life skills needed to stay safe in adolescence and adulthood.

Autism NI will support young people aged 13-15 years old with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a programme of group workshops focused on developing the social and life skills needed to keep safe in adolescence and adulthood.  Throughout the programme, we will discuss personal and emotional safety, safety at home and in the community, internet safety and the emergency services.  Details of the programme are as follows:
  • The programme will run on Tuesday evenings 6-8.30pm for 7 weeks, commencing 27th May and finishing 8th July 2014.
  • Workshop will be held at Autism NI’s offices, at Knockbracken Healthcare Park.
  • A final eighth session will run as a celebration activity (date and location to be confirmed when workshop commences).

Groups are kept small (8-10 participants) to aid communication and learning, so places for this group are limited. If you live in the greater Belfast area, and would like to register your son/daughter for a place on this course, please contact Autism NI ASAP by using the telephone or email details on the right. You can also apply for a place by completing and returning the attached 'general interest form' to Autism NI via email or post.
