This practical workshop for professionals will address how to assess, teach and reinforce social skills, how to set up social skills groups and how to measure the effectiveness of your intervention.

Alex Kelly is a Speech and Language Therapist who has specialised in working with people with Learning Disabilities for nearly 25 years, with 15 years’ experience in social skills training. She has published a number of resources for Speech and Language Therapy and Social Skills training which include the bestselling Talkabout social skills series and Working with Adults with a Learning Disability. Alex provides training and consultancy in developing social skills, self-esteem and relationship skills.

 

Aims for the day:

This practical workshop will address the following aspects to developing social skills:-

  • How to assess social skills and know where to start
  • How to teach social skills
  • How to reinforce these skills for each individual
  • How to set up and run effective social skills groups
  • How to measure the effectiveness of your intervention

 

Workshop Details:

Registration from 9.30am, workshop from 10am -3pm.
