ME Support Northern Ireland would like to invite you to attend a charity fundraising event to celebrate 25 years of M.E. International Awareness Day.

This is an important milestone in the campaign to raise awareness of a hugely debilitating illness which affects around 7,000 people in Northern Ireland. It affects all people regardless of age or gender.

M.E. is often referred to as an ‘invisible illness’ and people with M.E. can endure unfair stigma as a result. It is frequently confused with Fibromyalgia. While both are similar and are invisible illnesses, many people with M.E. have found that they require a different approach towards treatment and healthcare.

Large scale research carried out by the M.E. Association has discovered that many M.E. sufferers have fallen ill as a result of Graded Exercise Therapy recommended by many healthcare professionals. In many cases it often results in long-term illness and even hospitalisation.

As part of M.E. International Awareness Day, M.E. Support Northern Ireland is seeking to raise awareness of this and the many issues faced by M.E. sufferers and their carers.

Please come along to support our fundraising efforts and to help us celebrate 25 years of M.E. International Awareness Day
