You can stretch your legs for charity and take part in the ‘Donard Dander’ to the top of Northern Ireland’s highest mountain Slieve Donard on Sunday 25th July and raise vital funds for the Ulster Cancer Foundation (UCF).
The fundraising event organised by the Trassey Trackers Walking Club, is only £10 to enter and it is open to walkers of all levels of ability. All proceeds will be donated to UCF to help local cancer patients and their families.
Neill Grainger from UCF said, “This is a great opportunity to get out and about and appreciate some of the beautiful scenery right on our doorstep as well as raise vital funds for a local charity. The ‘Donard Dander’ will be a great challenge for both regular hill walkers and beginners alike, where participants will be encouraged to walk at their own pace for as little or as much as they like, to the top of Slieve Donard. All proceeds from the ‘Donard Dander’ will be donated to UCF which is committed to tackling cancer in Northern Ireland by supporting research, providing services for cancer patients and by educating people on how they can reduce their risk of the disease.”
A minimum donation of £10 to enter can be paid at the starting point - Donard car park at 9am on Sunday 25th July.
