Healthier Choices, Healthier Families is working with parents and child aged 8-11 years over 12-weekly sessions. Our aim is to manage obesity already occurring in children of this age. This is achieved by educating the whole family around healthy eating (through the support of Dieticians) well-being and physical activity. Both programmes provide the opportunity for families to try new foods through "Snack-Time."
The next programme to take place is as followed:
Tuesday 18th June - St Brendan's Primary School, Craigavon @ 6pm-7.30pm
This is a programme not to missed so to make sure you get a place on these programmes register now with either myself or Diane Boyd (dianeb@early-years.org)
The multi-component, family focused, community based, partnership approach has been found effective in engaging and retaining families with positive feedback through participates video diaries, goal charts and initial analysis by University of Ulster confirming that programme outcomes are being met.
